AI lameness detection helps 5,000-cow Arizona dairy achieve zero visible lameness in herd audit

Challenge

Triple G Dairy is a 5,000-cow operation in Buckeye, Arizona, managed by Skylar Gericke. The farm deployed CattleEye's AI monitoring technology, addressing labour shortages that made traditional hands-on lameness detection impractical at scale.

Results

Triple G Dairy achieved zero lame cows in a 100-cow audit, becoming one of the best performing farms in the region for lameness control. Staff shifted from searching for lame cows to treating them earlier, improving labour efficiency during shortages. The farm eliminated visible lameness, protecting its reputation with consumers and customers.

"Being one of the larger dairies in the mid-Southwest, a lot of what we do is data-driven. We don't work hand-in-hand on individual cows as much as we'd like to. CattleEye identifies the cows that we need to send to the hoof trimmer to get a lower percentage of lameness in the herd."
